Whole-Person Support for Chronic Illness & Chronic Pain

Are you tired of being tired—or living with ongoing pain? Exhausted by endless doctor’s appointments and navigating a world that isn’t built for visible or invisible disabilities?

I understand how complex and discouraging this journey can be. My work is informed by both clinical training and lived experience with chronic illness and chronic pain, allowing me to support clients in navigating healthcare, strengthening self-advocacy, and finding relief when answers feel out of reach. Through a holistic, whole-person approach, therapy can help reduce symptoms, support acceptance where needed, and create more meaning and quality of life—even in the midst of ongoing challenges.

Therapy Treatments & Goals

Treating chronic pain and illness should not be a one-size-fits-all approach. Symptoms exist within a larger system that includes the nervous system, mental health, relationships, and basic needs. My approach is holistic and integrative, addressing these interconnected layers to support sustainable change and improved quality of life.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), created by Alan Gordon, is an evidence-based approach focused on the brain’s role in chronic pain. Using an adapted form of this method, I help clients learn to interrupt pain-related fear responses, reduce anxiety, and support nervous system regulation, which can lessen the intensity and impact of chronic pain over time.

Finding Meaning & Acceptance

For many people, chronic illness or pain begins later in life, often disrupting a sense of identity, stability, and future plans. This experience can feel disorienting, infuriating, grief-filled—or simply exhausting.

Acceptance does not mean giving up or minimizing your suffering. It means learning how to relate to what cannot be changed while gently exploring what can be shaped. In therapy, we work toward finding meaning, cultivating self-compassion, and building a life that feels worth living—even in the presence of ongoing challenges.

Navigating the Healthcare System

Which doctor should I see? How do I get my providers on the same page? How can I reduce the financial strain of ongoing care?

Navigating healthcare with chronic illness can be overwhelming and exhausting. I support clients in organizing their care, clarifying next steps, and strengthening their ability to advocate for themselves within the medical system. From referrals to care coordination strategies, I help you approach healthcare with more clarity, confidence, and support.

Discover Your Neurotype

Understanding neurodiversity—and how the nervous system functions—can offer important insight into how your brain and body communicate. Neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, or AuDHD, are more likely to experience complex or co-occurring health concerns.

Because healthcare often treats conditions separately, the bigger picture is frequently missed. I help clients connect the dots—supporting you in navigating care, learning how to work with your neurotype rather than against it, and finding affirming approaches that support your overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Reducing Anxiety

Anxiety is inseparable from chronic pain and chronic illness. By nature, health problems lead to anxiety in one way or another. Add in the challenges of navigating our healthcare system and now we have anxiety and frustration. One of my core specialties is helping clients reduce anxiety symptoms and minimize the negative health impacts on the body.

Supporting Identity, Relationships & Self-Trust

Chronic illness and pain can quietly erode self-trust, reshape identity, and strain relationships. Many people find themselves questioning their own experiences after years of symptoms being minimized, misunderstood, or dismissed—by medical providers, loved ones, or even themselves.

I support clients in rebuilding trust in their bodies and perceptions while navigating the relational and emotional impact of illness. This work is informed by both clinical training and lived experience with chronic illness and pain, allowing for care that is deeply attuned, validating, and grounded in reality. Together, we explore identity shifts, boundaries, communication, and self-advocacy so you can move through the world with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

Treating Illness Holisitically

Treating illness holistically means attending to both physical foundations and emotional wellbeing. Sleep, nutrition, energy levels, and potential deficiencies play a meaningful role in how the nervous system functions—just as stress, trauma, and relationships shape how symptoms are experienced.

In therapy, we explore how these basic needs are being met, identify barriers to care or follow-through, and address the emotional, relational, and systemic factors that impact health. This work complements medical care by supporting nervous system regulation, stress reduction, self-advocacy, and sustainable coping strategies that improve overall quality of life.

Find Hope

Even in the midst of chronic illness and pain, therapy can help you uncover sources of hope, resilience, and possibility that make life feel more manageable.

Health Conditions

Chronic illness can affect every part of life. The areas below reflect conditions I work with frequently and understand deeply through both professional training and often personal experience. Related Conditions

These related conditions often co-occur with chronic pain and chronic illness and are part of my list of specialties:

ADHD

Recent research shows that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is at the root of many chronic illnesses and chronic pain.

Autism/AuDHD

Likewise, Autism and Autism plus ADHD (AuDHD) are also often undiagnosed in patients with chronic pain/illness.

Anxiety

Anxiety and chronic pain go hand-in-hand, even if you aren't noticing physical symptoms of anxiety.

Relationships

Chronic illness and pain deeply affects all relationships.
